The year is 3025 and the galaxy is trapped in a cycle of perpetual war, fought by noble houses with enormous, mechanized combat vehicles called BattleMechs. I'm not sure if this is related to not being able to programme some things properly, but anyway it had ruined my experience as not only the first loading screen goes for a long time, but also when loading a mission the time is longer now. From original BATTLETECH/MechWarrior creator Jordan Weisman and the developers of the award-winning Shadowrun Returns series comes the next-generation of turn-based tactical 'Mech combat. It seems than, since the flashpoint update (and the last two patches) the game needs to load a lot of things more. I've had the chance to put the game for some minutes in a SDD and the problem was nearly solved (it was in the HBS logo for about 15-20 seconds, no more).Īs i said, sadly for me, i have no longer the possibility to use a SDD so, this will be a constant issue. Sadly for me, it seems that this new issue is as you said, related to HDD loading a lot of things. Until it's fully loaded what it wants to load, the game will not let you skip the intro video.įiraxis later then added a option into the game to disable the intro video and instead replace it with a very brief loading splash screen during that step after people got fed up with hearing that old man sigh for the 100,000,000,000,000 time before they could skip the intro and get to the main menu of the game. that's likely a Unity quirk with how they're combining the two steps of trying to load in assets (or perhaps it's reading profile/settings, but that shouldn't hold up a HDD for 1-2 minutes) whilst at the same time instructing the game to load the splash logos.īut take Civilisation 5 for example, the intro video is unskippable for a variable amount of time due to the game actually loading assets behind the scenes whilst the video is playing. Lots of games do it, though it doesn't usually bring the whole application to a standstill. Loading up assets without a loading bar or circle seems to be in the realm of needing to hire more customer support people on purpose =) If you switch out the game to a SSD, the hold up on the HBS logo goes away entirely which pretty much confirms the source of the problem leaving it a matter of 'Why is this now a new problem?'. perhaps it's a byproduct of a intentional change the developers made to pre-emptively load up assets ahead of time to address some of the problems the game runs into with mission/campaign loading at times.
